This survey is for men who have been diagnosed and/or treated for prostate cancer, as well as their wives and/or partners.

The survey explores concepts such as love, hope, regret, fear and faith. These are rarely explored in the context of men’s health and even less often in the context of older men and prostate cancer.  Your views are important.

“Perceived supportive care needs of women with early stage breast cancer and their key support people.” This study is being conducted by the Medical Oncology department at Flinders Medical Centre and involves completion of a questionnaire on one occasion only (to be returned by reply paid envelope).

To be eligible for this study women need to have been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer and either:

(i) be currently receiving chemotherapy [click on this underlined text to access a copy of the ‘acute’ Participant Info Sheet] (although not for cancer recurrence) or

(ii) have completed acute treatment [click on underlined text to access the ‘chronic’ version of Participant Info Sheet] (i.e., surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy) in the last 2 years. The study is also interested in the experiences of a key support person (e.g., partner, adult child, friend, neighbour).

Ethics approval has been granted by the Southern Adelaide Clinical Human Research Ethics Committee. For further information please contact Kirsty Prior at kirsty.prior@flinders.edu.au or by calling 7221 8504

Expressions of interest (EOI) to be involved in review of Cancer Council cancer support patient information booklets: Cancer Councils across Australia are working together to produce their patient information booklets nationally. The aim is to  provide support resources across Australia that provide consistent information and by sharing our resources produce printed information  at a reduced cost. These booklets are reviewed regularly every 2 to 3 years. An important part of each review is comment by the target audience of the booklets, patients, carers, families and friends.

Cancer Council SA would like to invite you to participate in the review of our patient information booklets. If you are interested please send an expression of interest to chygonnet@cancersa.org.au or register with Cancer Council Helpline 13 11 20 and I will provide details of the selection process  and guidelines for reviewers. Please note, your treatment and cancer experience needs to be within the last 5 years.
